Where to Eat

Foodies of all types and palettes have discovered the Hudson Valley and its wide variety of top-flight restaurants. The farm-to-table concept—in which chefs seek out ingredients for their dishes from local farmers—is becoming standard practice in the region with the words “grass fed” and “organic” are showing up on more and more menus. The greatest chefs come from the Culinary Institute of America, located right here in the Hudson Valley. The Hudson Valley was the first wine producing region in the United States, and excellent vintages are still produced by dozens of picturesque wineries. Whether it’s casual dining or white tablecloth service, gourmet fare can be found even in the smallest villages.
