Located at 22 Clinton Ave., across the street from the Palace Theatre, The Brown Derby (formerly Hollywood Brown Derby) forms the third corner of a triangle of top-notch and top-dollar restaurants. Diners entering the Derby ascend a small set of steps toward a host station set off from the dining room by a panel of glass bearing a see-through photo of a long-ago scene at the original Derby. (Look for George Burns and Gracie Allen in a bottom corner.) To the left is the bar with a leather leaning rail, to the right a wine cabinet and Art Deco-ish mural by painter and set designer Paul Bouchey, a Troy native. The open dining room consists mostly of roomy oval booths, their brown leather and the room´s dark wood accents giving way, as the eye rises, to warm yellow walls and palms. Food: Contemporary American with some classic dishes and international influences, including Cobb salad, duck tacos in Parmesan shell, sea bass poached in duck fat and served atop clam chowder, français-style monkfish, stout-braised short ribs and tuna loin au poivre. Hours: Lunch, 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; dinner, 5-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, until 10:30 or 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with bar menu available about an hour later Monday through Saturday. Also open before select Sunday-night events at the Palace Theatre; call for confirmation. (463-1945 )

Buca di Beppo is an authentic Italian restaurant that offers flavorful Italian dining. Dine with family and friends while enjoying the Italian traditions of food, friendship and hospitality. In the spirit of Italian culture, our dishes are served family style and are meant to be shared. Groups small and large come together to pass platters of our mouth-watering cuisine around the table for all to enjoy.

Dishes enjoyed for generations in the villages throughout Italy inspire our menu giving Buca its authentic Italian flare. We continue to innovate and create recipes beyond our traditional style by adding new menu items inspired by Northern and Southern Italian cuisine. Come indulge in the Buca experience of unforgettable appetizers, salads, pastas, pizzas, entrees, deserts, beer and fine wine.

Colonie Center, a 1.3 million square-foot enclosed two-level, regional shopping center with over 100 specialty stores, is at the heart of New York's Capital Region. The center is anchored by Boscov's, Macy's, and Sears. LL Bean, the first retail store in New York State, sits proudly on the first level. On the second level, back Colonie Center features the Christmas Tree Shops store, one of only two in the state. The center sits at the intersection of Wolf Road and Central Avenue, is just 5 minutes from the Albany International Airport and major hotel chains, and is accessible from Interstates 87 and 90. Along with a wide array of popular retailers including The Gap/Gap Kids/Baby Gap, Express, Bath and Body Works, Kay Jewelers, Lane Bryant, American Eagle, Victoria Secret, and New York & Company; the center is home to many stores that are unique to the market, including Spector's and Hannoush Jewelers. The center boasts the only Cheesecake Factory Restaurant in upstate New York and of course the always popular Friendly's Restaurant.
